My Olympic Moments

Since I was caught up yesterday about the opening ceremony, I might as well share some pictures I took with my phone from our TV.

Yup, you've read it right I was crazily in tune with the ceremony that I began taking pictures. It's as if I was there. Funny I know, but things like these are very interesting to me. I really like  to watch when Countries Unite or in any way they're like in one place at the same time. It just amaze me!

So here they are:

The First Picture was during the start of the program. They showed the Industrial Revolution of UK
The Second one is the combination of the 5 rings as the Symbol of the Olympic. It's actually very colorful.
And the Third is Her Majesty the Queen of England and the raising of the Union Jack(Flag of the UK).

It's the Philippines and the United States of America
.My Home Countries.

A little bit of info about the Philippines:
As you can see the flag bearer is wearing a "sarok". It's a crafy hat very common among farmers and may be used for everyday use. It is also waterproof. There's even a festival in honor of this craft in Cebu called Sarok Festival.

The Raising of the Olympic Flag and Lighting of the Olympic Torch

Big Stars also participated with the opening ceremony:

There you have it my collages during the opening ceremony.
and so it begins...
WELCOME OLYMPICS 2012!

Thank You for reading my Blog! ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 28: Cup

For today's subject - CUP

It's just a simple red cup I bought at Walmart. I like how simple it is. It's also microwavable so it's  a very convenient cup.

I'm personally a big collector of cups, any shapes and sizes. This is actually what me and my mom shared in common. We have different variety of cups back home, mostly they're BIG. And we actually use it. People who visits our house or stay for the night or two, always have  something to say about our cups. ^_^

I like collecting things but are of great use. -> my own perspective.

July Photo-A-Day 27: On the Road

I was so caught up by the Olympics '12 Opening Ceremony that I forgot to blog. So, here I am another late post for my Day 27thGood thing I found a picture that's perfect for the subject right away.

This picture was taken by me while Hubby's driving. We were on our way to Key West. This was on a saturday afternoon, Black Saturday (April 7th, 2012). Two Days Later was our Courthouse Wedding. ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 26: Sunshine

Picture taken in Mackinac Island, MI of last year (2011)
View from my room. Isn't it magnificent?

I used to work in the island, particularly at the famous Grand Hotel. We were provided with housing and I had the chance to be roomed at the top floor. It was frustrating going up and down but the view was to die for. I'm glad I had the chance to see this kind of beauty.

July Photo-A-Day 25: Heart

I'm really glad about today's subject because it depicts something that is really special and of great value to me.

It is my necklace. I've been wearing this since I was in College. I bought this with my mom. The pendant is a cross with a heart on it. It's simple but means a lot. Love it.

It's always with me everywhere I go, and it's also blessed. It's very dear to me and I always hold it close to my heart.

July Photo-A-Day 24: A Stranger

Once, I had a 24-Hour Layover in Changi Airport in Singapore

I was on my way home from Dubai to Philippines

Good thing, the Airport have this Free Two-Hour Guided Tour for people who have at least 5 Hours Layover. I feel so lucky to have this experience.

They also let you out of the bus to explore a little bit and just meet-up in a specific area.

Because of that I found this old man sitting at the park reading a newspaper. I just found him interesting. Living a simple and stress-free life.

July Photo-A-Day 22: Upside Down

I've been looking for a photo that describes the subject since this morning, good thing I found this. One of my dog's photo when he was still a puppy, as you can see he's really playful. The name is "Chiko". Photo taken by my mom.

July Photo-A-Day 20: Eyes

Ok, so my entry for friday went a day late for I've been pre-occupied yesterday. Regardless, I'm still gonna post it.

This is a picture of my eye. Originally, took this picture to look at those visible lines under my lower eyelids. It's weird, I know. This is just one of those days were i get really bored.

That's about it. Thank You for reading my blog. ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 19: Animal/Insect/Pet

Picture of my Three Dogs with their names on it.
I really love Animals and there's no exception for that. I just think some animals are misunderstood by some. And for today's subject: I'm showing my three dogs: Two are mix and one is an American Bully

Unfortunately, they're not with me, but with my mom. Mom's taking care of them really good. My mom's a dog lover like me. I grew up with dogs ever since I could remember. Hopefully, I can get a dog sometimes soon(a cat is okay with me but it's not an option for Michael doesn't like cats). Hubby also want an Aquarium with assorted seawater fishes in it. SOON! ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 17: My Addiction

If there's one thing that I'm really addicted of that would be Chocolates. I am a certified sweet tooth, ever since I was little. One interesting fact about me being addicted to sweets is that I never had a bad tooth. Like most kids when they were younger they tend to have bad baby teeth due to sweets but I never did. Lucky me!

I have this love for chocolates because of my dad who works abroad and sends us boxes of chocolates. It's crazy, I know, but it's a way of life if you're an OFW(overseas filipino worker), sending stuff back home or gifts for relatives. Its like saying "I still remember you, guys! Even though I'm far away from all of you." My dad just overdo it and loves sending us a lot of chocolates, and since then I've been a fan. ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 16: Sign

Hello, Bloggers. It's Monday again and for today's subject is Sign

I took  this photo while I was strolling along South Roosevelt Blvd here in Key West

There's nothing significant about the photo, just something that fits the subject. In my personal opinion, the road along this Boulevard is really well kept. And the view along this road is just awesome. You'll see people doing their daily exercises, biking, strolling, or even rollerblading

There you have it, my photo for today.
Thank you for reading my blog.

July Photo-A-Day 15: Finger

A photo on the day we got married with our rings on it.

The rings are made up of black titanium. We're not suppose to have rings (yet!) since we're just doing it in the courthouse but it just doesn't feel right not having any of it on THE DAY. So, we decided to settle for a less-expensive rings to symbolize for our union on that day.  ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 14: Building

So, for today's subject, Building. I'm sharing a picture I took when I was in Dubai last 2010. This is The Address Downtown Dubai or simply called The Address

Photo captured by me. All Rights Reserved.

This is truly a majestic building.
I love the architecture.
On the other side of this building is the Burj Khalifa: The Tallest Building in the World (which I have to say is a magnificent edifice). In between this amazing buildings is a huge dancing fountain. You'll never gonna get bored when you step into this area. It's breathtaking. Just one of the many places that Dubai has to offer.

Description:

The Address Downtown Dubai, formerly The Address Downtown Burj Dubai, is a supertall skyscraper rising 302.2 meters alongside the Dubai Mall, the Old Town, and the Lake Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Wikipedia

July Photo-A-Day 13: Open

Happy Friday the 13th, Bloggers!

Today Subject: Open

An open jar of peanut butter
So, I found this peanut butter that I never knew we had and as I open it, I figured I could use this as my subject for today. Nothing really significant about it, just me eating my sandwich with peanut butter on it.

July Photo-A-Day 12: Texture

I feel like I'm drawn to the past.
It has that dramatic aura that would made you think of its history.

You just gotta wonder...

July Photo-A-Day 11: Letter

I Love Letters!

This letter is from a very dear friendShe's one of the sweetest and most caring person I've ever known. She's like a sister to me even though we never really hang out when we we're young (she's a bit older than me too) but she treat me like she knew me since then. This letter was actually a surprise, a "Welcome Back" letter.

It's so special for me, specially that nowadays people aren't using that much snail-mail letters to write to someone anymore. I was really touch and so blessed to have people like her in my life.

Her name is Estella. I call her "Ate Estella".
A sister, not by blood but by heart.

The Letter from Ate Estella

FYI:

"Ate" (Pronounced A-teh) - A Filipino term used to refer to an older sister or any woman who is older. It is also used to show respect and politeness

July Photo-A-Day 10: My Favorite Color

Photo From:  Made-In-China.com
VIOLET is my favorite color.
Always have been and always will. It's also a coincidence that this is THE FIRST color that I knew when I was a toddler and still learning the primary colors.

It also happened to be the color or the same shade of my Birthstone which is Amethyst
Coincidence? Or Fate?

Whichever it is, I LOVE VIOLET.

July Photo-A-Day 9: Big

Photo by me: my subject for today
Something BIG... The first thing that pops-out of my mind is our BIG Plasma TV. Well, its sort of kinda my best buddy here in the house specially, when Michael(my husband) is at work. As you can see, I'm on a series marathon from Netflix and for this past weeks I've been watching "Ghost Whisperer".

I really like watching paranormal stuff, funny how I freak out myself to sleep every night still continue to watch this the whole entire day, ALONE. The irony of life.

I'm superstitious by the way, I really believe in this stuff. Believe it or not, I've experienced it myself in our house back home in the Philippines (by the way, Superstitious Belief is one of the Filipino Cultures). My experience weren't that harsh though just the normal stuff of paranormal. No big story to tell. ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 8: Lunch

Good Day, Bloggers! So, I'm up now for my 8th Day. And for today's photo subject is Lunch. Today, I cooked Chicken Adobo for my Lunch. I am not a cook, in fact I'm not really good at it. But, I'm trying my best to be one someday. Learning. Baby Steps.

This is my 2nd attempt to do this by the way, the first was not really that successful, So, I would assume this one is really an Okay for me, in my own opinion. I felt really good about this. It made me super happy. Well, I can't really say it taste good, but it looks good. Hopefully, I'll be able to cook more and share some stuff around here(talking like a pro, I know!). I really like cooking just didn't have the chance while growing up to do stuff like this. Since now I'm married, I have a kitchen, I can do whatever I want. I would say this is one of the best part of being married.

Oh, and about the food, It's a Filipino Recipe. A famous recipe back home called Adobo.

      Definition:
A stew made with meat (pork or chicken) or fish that has been marinated in vinegar and garlic sauce, simmered, and then browned in the oven or pan-fried for crispiness.

A picture of my Lunch today!

 I made Chicken Adobo
And would love to try to do pork some other time.

There you have it.
Thanks again for reading my blog.

July Photo-A-Day 7: Garden

Okay for one, we don't have a garden, but my husband really likes to have a mini-cactus at home. He's so unpredictable, he likes a lot of things and has a lot of plans in life. So, since we don't have a garden, I just pick a photo online(I put a description for where the photo came from, by the way).

Here it is, my photo of the day:
Photo From:  Hemera Technologies/AbleStock.com/Getty Images
It's really cute, and hopefully we'll be able to buy one or two soon so we could take care of it and see if I'm good with plants. Thanks again for reading my blog. ^_^

So, for my Photo of the Day here's a picture of a chair in our balcony.

This chair is like a best-friend for me, this is where I read a book, relax and just think of some random stuff.
There you have it my photo for today.

Thank you and 'til next time.

July Photo-A-Day 5: On the Floor

Hello Bloggers! Here I am blogging about my daily photo once again and my subject for today is ON THE FLOOR.

The picture above showed our messy floor. It's not really that deep, I was just looking for something to coincide with the subject since cleaning our house was the only thing I did earlier. I thought, might as well post this because it's the only relevant thing that I've done for today.

There's no greater story about this picture, but i'm just happy that it all turned out well and cleaned in my own perspective anyway. Life of a housewife. I really feel for my mom though and I'm proud of her for doing things just to make our house feel at home and comfy.

So, that's about it for today. Thank you for reading.

July Photo-A-Day 4: Fun

Happy INDEPENDENCE Day, USA!!!

In line with the festivities today my picture of the day is:
"Fireworks"

As the subject is BUSY so as my picture of the Sky full of fireworks.
Today is the 4th of July and it would never be complete without it's grand show, Fireworks Display.

Even though it's raining here in Key West, they still manage to display it.
Rain or No Rain, the show must go on.

-GOD BLESS AMERICA-

July Photo-A-Day 3: Best Part of My Day

The best part of my day is ALWAYS waking up in a morning alive and well. Specially, if its a really nice weather. And having my husband back from work is the best part of my day today.

My husband is in the military and there's nothing more fulfilling than seeing him back from work. It's not easy being away with him just the thought of what he does worries me but I know God is always there to protect him. Trust and Prayer are the key ingredients in order to survive this situation.

July Photo-A-Day 2: Busy

"BUSY"

A picture from South Beach, FL.
I think this picture reflects the subject because as you can see there are different kinds of people in it doing different things and birds are flying around.
There's just a lot of things going on it.

:About the Picture:

This was my first time to visit South Beach, so, I was a bit touristy about the whole thing. I came there with my suite-mate on a Christmas Day of last year(2011). It was cloudy. People were trying to get in the water but there were Jellyfish everywhere. Well, we still managed to get away from it, by going farther from the seashore. The water was a little bit cold at first but we manage, so it was still a good experience for me. It was crazy crowded specially during night time, we would have stayed but chose to go home instead. Overall, It was something fun and fulfilling for me to have gone to South Beach even just for a day.

July Photo-A-Day 1: Self Portrait

Here is a picture of me, Yup that's me.. Just took this shot today
and I really look tired, tired of doing nothing...

:A little bit about my life and my folks:

I'm 25, Asian-Filipino, Before I got married my Immediate Family only consist of three people; Me, My Mom and My Dad, makes me an ONLY CHILD

Mom, is back home in the Philippines, Dad's still working in the Middle East specifically
Abu Dhabi, UAE and I'm here in the US. We are all in a long distance relationship. ^_^ Hopefully or someday, mom and dad will join me here in the US.

As I've mentioned in my Intro Blog, I grew up in the Philippines, Yes I did, My Mom race me she sacrificed a lot of things even her dreams just to race me while my dad is away working for us to live a good life. It's not easy being away with one of your parents, I feel like I only knew my mom, I was never close to my Dad but I always knew he loves me dearly just that we don't get along pretty well. Mom on the other hand is like a sister to me, we get a long in a lot of things and fight in some stupid reasons... but I always had that utmost respect towards her no matter what. Honestly, If you ask me who I am scared most between my parents I would say my mom. LoL.

My Parents are very supportive in everything I do. But don't get me wrong, even as an only child, they never spoiled me. They always tell me in order to reach my dreams I have to work on it and that I have to set a goal for me achieve good things. And that's one of the best things that they ever shared to me. For that I am really grateful to them.

It's JULY!

Today is the 1st Day of the Month, oh! How time flies... next thing you'll know it's Christmas again.. mmm...we'll not gonna get that far yet.

So, since I really don't do much... I decided to try something for this whole entire month and hopefully I would be religious about it and finish it till the last day.

It's called, PHOTO-A-DAY! Here's a picture of it and  it is made by @fatmumslim... (found it online!)

I decided to follow this for the rest of the month and see how it goes. It would also help me to  update my blog daily... I'll post my DAY 1 on the next blog with a little bit of something about the given subject of the day just to spice it up a bit, hope anyone who's reading my blog will enjoy it...
