Holiday Blues

Christmas Day just ended and it's time for the hubby to come home. Actually, he's not home right now and didn't spend Christmas with me. It was a sad day when christmas arrived, It felt lonelier than ever. This also happened to be my Third Christmas away from my 1st Home (Philippines).

Why I was alone on Christmas?

Work didn't let me go, In the industry that I'm in Holidays are the busiest. It was sad, knowing you can't even have a break for the most wonderful time of the year but we're working in order for other families' Holidays to be special. It's a fact but what can I do?

Why my man was not with me at Christmas?

It wasn't because of work, but because it was already planned. Before I even got the job my man and I already planned to go to his parents for the holidays. It work out for him but not for me and my work. A lot of people, thought we should have been together for Christmas. I Agree but in a certain level. There are some things to consider and I understand compeletely even if it was really sad for me.

What did I do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

NOTHING really. For me it was just like those ordinary days, but everytime I check on my social media networks then sadness came. Anyway, overall it was just some boring day for me.

Today's a new day and I'm excited to see my husband again...
Safe trip for my man on his way home.

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Random Thoughts

I've been thinking about writing something lately but I just can't think of something worth sharing. Well, first, I've been so stressed at work that I can't even continue to expound something in order to make it something worth blogging about. Second, nothing really that interesting to blog out.

So, I've wondered if I could just post something that I feel like worth sharing to the world. It doesn't need to be really interesting to everyone after all this is my blog. Whether you like it or not this is my life.

One of the things that stops me from posting random stuff is because of those people who I don't want to read my Blog might find this and use it against me (not that I have enemies, but I'm just being cautious). I feel like I'm arguing with myself right now and it kinda sounds crazy.

I thought about this a lot...

And what I have decided is just to post random stuff. Whatever I feel like I have the right to say but still know my limits and still respect other people's boundaries. So, I might express an opinion, but I won't judge someone...

Hopefully, anybody who reads this would understand...

Just expressing some thoughts... Trying to blog more and share some views to everyone.

Thank you guys!

Hurt and Sad

I was never born perfect, I may have flaws but i always tried to please people specially those whom I love so dear. Wanting them to be proud of what you've become but on a certain point they will get used to those good things you've done and some achievements you've made and just one err would cause them to be disappointed in you and begin to compare you with other people who have done something much better. And I guess in my personal opinion the hardest part is being compared to someone. You will start to ask yourself, am I not good enough? Is there something wrong with me? How can I ever please them?

Simple questions with mind boggling answers. Bare with me guys for I am just expressing how I feel tonight. It is not easy being me. Hopefully, somehow... Someday... The time would come that my folks would truly understand that I'm not a kid anymore and I have my own personality and my own way of living. I'm a full grown woman who is married and is starting a life of my own.

I hope and pray to God for some guidance and to uplift my spirit and to cast away the sadness I'm feeling.

I love my folks so dearly and I respect them very much. My only wish is for them to respect my decisions and my boundaries.

Good News

It's been weeks since I blog and a lot of things had happened.

First, the long wait has finally came to an end.

I can now feel at ease living here. (Just a side note, I wasn't an illegal alien at all but I was just in a process of changing my status). But just to get those changes finalize made it felt better.

I'm extremely grateful and feel so  blessed. I started a week ago and on training right now and so far all is good. Having to work again is just a relief for me. It feels so good to do something again.
My next stop is to pass my road driving test.

Everything just seems to be taking it's place. So happy and thankful specially to GOD for pouring me with all these blessings. Patience is truly a virtue.

Game Over... NOT!

Hello there fellow bloggers,

The waiting game is finally over.

Yes, I have the decision. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job.

You know, I really felt the connection between the managers and supervisors towards me though, but It seems like someone is more equipped than I am for them.
What else can I say? It's their decision anyway.

I'm a little bit sad knowing that I didn't get it (God knows how long I waited for this), but I always look on the brighter side. Since I didn't get it  then it's not for me. I know that there's something out there for me. I will just have to keep my hopes up.

One thing I have notice too is that most employers are really having a hard time hiring people who are involve in the military thinking that this person is not gonna stay for so long. I've read articles about this and I never quite believe it until I experience it first hand. Well, I do understand their concerns but this should not be an issue for them. I mean, they should be able to understand and have some consideration to some. Specially, if that person is very much qualified.

I still believe that I will find a job soon.
Everything happens for a reason.
.God is my strength.

The Waiting Game

I Hope and Pray that I will get a job soon, I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Ever since the USCIS gave me an authorization for employment I jump right-in all the job listings here in Key West, then, I got three calls for an interview from the three different establishments that I applied for. I have been anxiously waiting for the results. I’ve been to three interviews for this one company which I really want to work with. During the interview I honestly enjoyed it, I feel like they like me and I really like them as well. I feel so comfortable just about talking them; they are very professional and very friendly. That’s one of the things I look forward in a job the people you work with. I hope I’ll get the job and I’m still waiting for their final say just the wait is just killing me.

I believe that if this is really for me then it’s going to be, if not then I’m sure there’s something out there that’s meant for me. But, whatever their decision is I will respect it.

I really believe that everything happens for a reason

Having fun in Key West

I haven't been blogging for awhile... August was just too busy for me. The In-laws were here for about a week then my Husband's Birthday came and just a lot of outdoor stuff going on. So, I'm thinking of sharing some pictures of what kept me so busy. Here they are:

A picture of my Husband with his Mom and Dad.
Beautiful Sunrise here in Key West.

We went Paddle Boarding and Guess what we saw along those shallow waters?
It was my first time to see one physically too.

Awesome experience!

We went back on doing one of our favorite past time too and that is...

Michael once again caught a grouper not big enough but at least.

...We Rented a Boat...

And saw a Pod of Dolphins swimming along the open sea...

We also did some Lobster Hunting while Snorkeling... I couldn't believe how fast this Lobsters' swim.. they are indeed very tricky to catch....Did it twice... First time we did it Michael caught 3 all by himself...

The Second Time was with Michael's co-worker Matt. And together they caught four (4). It's suppose to be 6 but the other two were too small.

Michael and I with our Lobsters!

That's about it. Hope you guys enjoyed my blog!
Thank you for reading.

Aug-Photo-A-Day 10: Ring

The presentation of my subject for the 10th of this month will be this ring.

You might think this is an engagement ring but it's not. I bought it in Dubai for myself. It was an idea that me and my roommate had while we were out and just enjoying our off. It does feel good to give yourself a present once in awhile after a hard days work.

This is one of my priceless possession.

Photo From:
A 1992 Movie.
I really found every Batman movies, Interesting
They have these plots with deep stories in it.
Full of twists and turns which makes the movie more watchable.

Aug-Photo-A-Day 6: Writing

I know I'm late at posting this but here goes.

Writing as the subject made me think about this Quote from a Book "A Return to Love" by Marianne Williamson

For me, it's very inspiring and very uplifting. I get goosebumps every time I read it.

It has also been quoted and used in the movie "Coach Carter". That movie was also very inspiring.

So, here I am showing you the lines of "Our Deepest Fear".

My favorite Quote of all time.

Aug-Photo-A-Day 5: Logo

I'm showing you this logo representing my home country, Philippines.

It is the "Coat of Arms of the Philippines."

It features the eight-rayed sun of the Philippines with each ray representing the eight provinces (Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Manila, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac) which were placed under martial law by Governor-General Ramón Blanco during the Philippine Revolution, and the three five-pointed stars representing the three primary geographic regions of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

On the blue field on the dexter side is the eagle of the United States, and on the red field on the sinister is the lion of Coat of arms of Castile and León, both representing colonial history.

It is also used by the Philippine National Bank.

My photo would be our couch
I think I have a relationship with it.

I've been a couch potato lately (I know it's not really healthy) but I can't help it.

I love the couch and here's a picture of it.

Coast Guard Day!

Today (August 4, 2012), marks the 222nd Birthday of the United States Coast Guard.
Thank you to all the Men and Women of CG including my husband (My Coastie)

Photo by me: CG Flag inside our home
I'm new to this CG Life but so far it's been good to me. What I love about it? the moving part, maybe some of you might think it's weird but, I'm really used to moving. All my life it's been like constant move and I love traveling so that really helps a lot. I am very much thankful to have a supportive and understanding husband despite the busy schedules and I'm also happy that he enjoys what he's doing.

Looking forward for more years with the Coast Guard. ^_^

About the US Coast Guard:

The Coast Guard is one of the oldest organizations of the federal government and until Congress established the Navy Department in 1798 it served as the nation's only armed force afloat.  The Coast Guard protected the nation throughout its long history and served proudly in every one of the nation's conflicts.  The Coast Guard's national defense responsibilities remain one of its most important functions even today.  In times of peace it operates as part of the Department of Homeland Security, serving as the nation's front-line agency for enforcing the nation's laws at sea, protecting the marine environment and the nation's vast coastline and ports, and saving life.  In times of war, or at the direction of the President, the Coast Guard serves as part of the Navy Department.

The Coast Guard's motto is Semper Paratus, meaning "Always Ready"

Aug-Photo-A-Day 2: One

I've been thinking of what to post for this subject, and If I want it to define something since it's a simple word that describes a lot of things.

I decided to take a picture in two ways with my hands.

First Picture: [showing my one finger]

Second Picture: [the word one]

Just feeling creative and for that I'll leave some inspiring quotes that has the subject on it.

*There is no feeling more comforting and consoling than knowing you are right next to the one you love.
*The one who asks questions doesn't lose his way  - African Proverb
*Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. - Buddha
*A relationship is like a rose, How long it lasts, no one knows. Love can erase an awful past, love can be yours, you'll see at last. To feel that love, it makes you sigh, To have it leave, you'd rather die. You hope you've found that special rose, 'cause you love and care for the one you chose. - Rob Cella

*Never worry about numbers.  Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you. - Mother Teresa
*Help one another; there's no time like the present and no present like the time. - James Durst

Thank you for spending some time here.

My Olympic Moments

Since I was caught up yesterday about the opening ceremony, I might as well share some pictures I took with my phone from our TV.

Yup, you've read it right I was crazily in tune with the ceremony that I began taking pictures. It's as if I was there. Funny I know, but things like these are very interesting to me. I really like  to watch when Countries Unite or in any way they're like in one place at the same time. It just amaze me!

So here they are:

The First Picture was during the start of the program. They showed the Industrial Revolution of UK
The Second one is the combination of the 5 rings as the Symbol of the Olympic. It's actually very colorful.
And the Third is Her Majesty the Queen of England and the raising of the Union Jack(Flag of the UK).

It's the Philippines and the United States of America
.My Home Countries.

A little bit of info about the Philippines:
As you can see the flag bearer is wearing a "sarok". It's a crafy hat very common among farmers and may be used for everyday use. It is also waterproof. There's even a festival in honor of this craft in Cebu called Sarok Festival.

The Raising of the Olympic Flag and Lighting of the Olympic Torch

Big Stars also participated with the opening ceremony:

There you have it my collages during the opening ceremony.
and so it begins...

Thank You for reading my Blog! ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 28: Cup

For today's subject - CUP

It's just a simple red cup I bought at Walmart. I like how simple it is. It's also microwavable so it's  a very convenient cup.

I'm personally a big collector of cups, any shapes and sizes. This is actually what me and my mom shared in common. We have different variety of cups back home, mostly they're BIG. And we actually use it. People who visits our house or stay for the night or two, always have  something to say about our cups. ^_^

I like collecting things but are of great use. -> my own perspective.

July Photo-A-Day 27: On the Road

I was so caught up by the Olympics '12 Opening Ceremony that I forgot to blog. So, here I am another late post for my Day 27thGood thing I found a picture that's perfect for the subject right away.

This picture was taken by me while Hubby's driving. We were on our way to Key West. This was on a saturday afternoon, Black Saturday (April 7th, 2012). Two Days Later was our Courthouse Wedding. ^_^

July Photo-A-Day 26: Sunshine

Picture taken in Mackinac Island, MI of last year (2011)
View from my room. Isn't it magnificent?

I used to work in the island, particularly at the famous Grand Hotel. We were provided with housing and I had the chance to be roomed at the top floor. It was frustrating going up and down but the view was to die for. I'm glad I had the chance to see this kind of beauty.

July Photo-A-Day 25: Heart

I'm really glad about today's subject because it depicts something that is really special and of great value to me.

It is my necklace. I've been wearing this since I was in College. I bought this with my mom. The pendant is a cross with a heart on it. It's simple but means a lot. Love it.

It's always with me everywhere I go, and it's also blessed. It's very dear to me and I always hold it close to my heart.

July Photo-A-Day 24: A Stranger

Once, I had a 24-Hour Layover in Changi Airport in Singapore

I was on my way home from Dubai to Philippines

Good thing, the Airport have this Free Two-Hour Guided Tour for people who have at least 5 Hours Layover. I feel so lucky to have this experience.

They also let you out of the bus to explore a little bit and just meet-up in a specific area.

Because of that I found this old man sitting at the park reading a newspaper. I just found him interesting. Living a simple and stress-free life.
